About the event
After 4+ years of working alongside McDonald’s organizations across the country, one thing has become clear: every leader, at every level, believes their challenges are unique — but they’re not.
The truth is, teams everywhere are navigating the same struggles, chasing the same goals, and celebrating the same kinds of wins. What makes the difference is how they learn, grow, and connect along the way.
That’s exactly what our Leadership Rally is all about.
This live, high-energy webinar isn’t just another training — it’s a rare chance for your team to gain insights from senior military leaders, sharpen their leadership skills, and most importantly, connect with peers from McDonald’s teams across the country.
It will be motivational, educational, and impactful — an opportunity to break silos, build community, and walk away with tools your leaders can use right away.
**The Topic:
Drive Performance Through People: Leading with Intention
In today’s fast-paced workplace, knowing how to delegate, motivate, and develop your team members isn't optional—it's essential. This high-impact Online Leadership Rally dives deep into the Skill/Will Matrix—a powerful yet practical framework for assessing team readiness and tailoring your leadership style accordingly.
Designed specifically for front-line leaders, this webinar experience equips attendees with the tools to identify whether team members are able, willing, both—or neither—and what actions to take in each scenario. Whether you're dealing with high performers, reluctant talent, or new employees in uncharted roles, this rally will show you how to lead with intention, clarity, and impact.
**The Offering:
Attendees will participate in a 45-minute discussion on the four Will & Skill dispositions; Support, Delegate, Guide, and Direct.

The Will/Skill Matrix is a management and coaching tool used to determine the best leadership or coaching style based on an individual’s motivation (will) and competence (skill). The matrix is divided into four quadrants, each representing a combination of high/low will and skill.
In addition, attendees will participate in a 45 minute breakout with one of our Elite Facilitators where they will interact with peers from other organizations around an emerging leadership topic.

James "JR" Lyda, Founder Guidon Leadership
As a 30-year military veteran, I dedicated my entire professional life to developing the next generation of leaders, assembling successful teams, and building growth opportunities for members at every level. I spent years as the executive advisor to numerous senior leaders in the military and have studied under some of the greatest minds. In 2021, I created Guidon Leadership to help me share this knowledge and my experiences with corporate teams.

Scott "Scotty" Shrier, Field Facilitator
Scott served 28-years in the USAF and led at the senior most levels. He is a skilled instructor with experience both in the classroom and on the battlefield. Scott led Airmen into hostile and uncertain environments, developing and identifying future leaders, providing strategic and operational advice to senior leaders; ensuring the health, morale, and welfare of the force. He has dedicated his life to the study of leadership and developing those around him to be better; earlier than himself.
With more than 2-years experience leading and developing McDonalds members at every level, he has emerged as the premier Field Facilitator for Guidon Leadership.
